520 _aSoundscape Ecology represents a new branch of ecologyÂ{u1BA4} it isÂ{u4A25} result of the integration of different disciplines like Landscape ecology,Â{u2A6F}oacoustics, Acoustic ecology, Biosemiotics, etc. The soundscape that is the object of this discipline, is defined asÂ{u4A25} acoustic context resulting from natural andÂ{u8D6D}anÂ{uFCA9}ginated soundsÂ{u086E}d it is considered a relevantÂ{u5BB6}ironmental proxy for animal and human life. WithÂ{u3BF5}ndscape EcologyÂ{u1B2D}mo FarinaÂ{uD961}ns to offer a newÂ{u3D6C}tural toolÂ{u4BE0}investigateÂ{u1830}artially explored component of the environmental complexity.Â{u6BF2}r thisÂ{u8960}intends to set the principlesÂ{uF9A0}this new discipline, to delineate the epistemic domainÂ{u0A6E} which to develop newÂ{u9925}asÂ{u1BA4} theories and to describe the necessary integrationÂ{u7A74}h all the other ecological/environmentalÂ{u4A73}ciplines. The book is organized in ten chapters. The first two chapters delineateÂ{u0CA9}nciples and theory of soundscape ecology. Chapters three and fourÂ{u4973}cribe the bioacoustic and communication theories. Chapter five is devotedÂ{u4BE0}the human dimension of soundscape.Âèapters six to eightÂ{u2967}ard the major sonic patterns likeÂ{uEBE9}se, choruses and vibrations. ChapterÂ{uEA6E}eÂ{u9CE0}devoted to the methods in soundscape ecology and finally chapter ten describes the application of the soundscape analysis.
