Her expertise includes the design of supertall buildings for seismic risk assessment, building motion due to wind, performance-based design and waterfront developments on reclaimed land. Hi Sun has lectured on supertall building design at several universities, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Lehigh University, Korea University and Seoul National University. In addition, she served as an adjunct professor at the Pratt Institute and the New Jersey Institute of Technology for several years. Active in the (CTBUH), she co-chaired its working group on outrigger design guidelines.)
