Written mainly for pediatric ophthalmologists and strabismologists, but also of great value to trainees, this text guides the reader through the thought processes needed for successful management of strabismus. Through the repeated use of icons, all material is designated as either basic, advanced, important points, pearls, or myths, and there is frequent use of case presentations from the author's consultation files. Strabismus - Practical Pearls You Won't Find in Textbooks. starts where the other standard texts leave off. It contains a distillation of the many practical "pearls" that Dr. Kushner has accumulated and shared with residents and fellows over a 40 year career with a tertiary care practice in strabismus. It describes the nuances in decision-making with a discussion of pros and cons of many treatment approaches and hypothesis and attempts to simulate the experience of spending time in clinic with a seasoned mentor who is passionate about teaching. |
